As 2025 comes to a close, I've been thinking about what this last week of the year is. It's a doorway. An opportunity to step back and reflect and to step forward and plan.
And before the New Year fills up with resolutions and goals I want to do something more useful for you. I want to help you know your baseline.
Your body is running a balance sheet whether you look at it or not. The smartest people I look after do one thing brilliantly at this time of year. They look back first before they plan forward.
Isn't it strange that you can run a business with dashboards, forecasts, and monthly reporting, yet run your own biology on hope and “I think I’m fine.”
You spend more time with yourself than anyone else on the planet. You're also important to other people. The ones who rely on you, love you, look up to you.
So here’s the question I keep coming back to at year end.
How well do you actually know yourself, inside out?
Because your body has one request. Take care of this incredible vessel of life.
So instead of resolutions, I’m offering you an audit.
Let’s dive in.
Where insight becomes impact
What I’ve been looking at this week…
Longevity science has a framework called the 12 Hallmarks of Ageing. It's the 12 recurring ways your cells age faster and lose their effectiveness over time.
It's an important model.
But you don’t live in a lab. You live in meetings, travel, deadlines, family, and late nights.
So I've translated these important hallmarks into a roadmap you can use.
Ageing accelerates when four things drift. Your ability to make energy, your ability to clean up cellular clutter, your ability to repair damage, and your ability to regulate signals between systems.
That's your end-of-year roadmap. Refuel. Recycle. Repair. Regulate. The 4Rs
Here’s what I’ve noticed in clinic. High performers often confuse functioning with flourishing. You can function for years on adrenaline, caffeine, late nights, and grit. Your biology keeps a quiet ledger though. It shows up later as stubborn weight, shallow sleep, rising blood pressure, creaky joints, brain fog, or that sudden thought, “why do I feel older this year?"
If you want to age slower in 2026, you audit in 4 layers, guided by science: Refuel, Recycle, Repair, Regulate.
Track it to hack it.
What I’ve been monitoring this week…
I love devices because they show you real-time patterns in between your tests. They make invisible physiology visible. For this audit, the devices are simple:
Wearables for trends: Oura, Whoop, Garmin, Fitbit. I’m an Oura wearer because I love the interface for how it shows sleep architecture, recovery and resting heart rate trends.
CGM for fuel signalling: Continuous glucose monitoring gives metabolic and energy insights
Blood pressure tracking for regulation patterns: I like the Hilo wristband because it’s built for day and night pattern awareness.
Now the audit.
From knowing to doing.
What this means for YOU…
The Age Reversing Audit. 12 biomarkers. 12 months.
Give yourself 1 point for each marker you’ve measured or tracked in the last 12 months.
REFUEL. Energy production Refuel score (0–3): ____ 1) Fasting insulin 2) Vitamins status (A, B, C, D, or E) 3) CGM (continuous glucose monitoring)
RECYCLE. Cellular clean-up Recycle score (0–3): ____ 4) Sleep data trend (timing, stages) 5) Liver function (ALT, AST, GGT) 6) Gut test (microbiome and digestion signals)
REPAIR. Fixing damage Repair score (0–3): ____ 7) 8-OHdG (oxidative DNA damage marker) 8) hsCRP (inflammation load) 9) HRV trend (heart rate variability)
REGULATE. Communication signals Regulate score (0–3): ____ 10) Biological age (your ageing speed scoreboard) 11) Blood pressure trend (home readings or continuous tracking) 12) Cortisol rhythm (the curve, not a single snapshot)
Total score (0–12): ____
What your results mean
0–3: blind intuition. You’re leading with trial and error.
4–7: partial visibility. Filling gaps will bring outsized results
8–10: precision territory. You're targeting specific levers
11–12: self-knowledge excels. This is where ageing slows deliberately.
To turn this information into action, now pick one lane to optimise for January. Which lane in the 4R roadmap are you choosing to start 2026 with? Refuel, Recycle, Repair, or Regulate. Hint: pick your lowest scoring lane, then one lane for each quarter of 2026.

2. The lane you want to lead with in January
I’ll reply personally with the exact missing tests I recommend for you, and how we can run them together so you start 2026 with clarity, not guesswork.
💼 Case in point: A patient came to me in September saying, “I think I'm doing all the right things, yet I feel like I've slowed down this year.” On paper - Busy. Successful. High functioning. Their Age Reversing Audit told the real story in minutes. Refuel was missing- no metabolic data. Recycle was strained - fragmented sleep, slightly stressed liver markers. Repair was busy - working overtime to fix damage. Regulate was noisy - cortisol curve staying high and blood pressure higher than expected for someone “fit.” We didn’t add a mountain of supplements. We chose one lane first. Refuel. Two weeks later CGM spikes had stabilised and the 3pm cravings disappeared. Three weeks later vitamin deficiencies were made visible and corrected. More energy. More focus. That’s what a baseline does. It turns “I think I’m fine” into “I know exactly what to do next.”

Where you’ll find me…
Last week: A proper reset with the family. Long walks through the New Forest, cold cheeks, muddy shoes, and that quiet kind of joy you only get when you’re fully present. Just being.
This week: A pause to reflect and plan before the pace returns. I’ve been doing my own Age Reversing Audit, looking back at my numbers. The lane I'm leading with in January is repair.
Next week: Filming with ITV - very exciting!
A thought to pause on… “The most powerful form of self-care is self-knowledge”
